Managing applications

Managing tasks

How to create tasks inside a pipeline entry and track them across all your applications at once.

Updated

Tasks are discrete work items inside a pipeline entry — "draft executive summary," "get CEO to review," "upload financials." They keep the work broken down and trackable without needing a separate project management tool.

Adding a task to a pipeline entry

  1. Open the pipeline entry for an award.
  2. Click Add task in the Tasks section.
  3. Write a description, optionally assign it to a team member, and set a due date.
  4. Click Save.

The task appears in the entry and also on the global Tasks page, sorted by due date.

The Tasks page

The Tasks page (sidebar → Tasks) is a flat list of every task across all your active pipeline entries. It's the answer to "what does the team actually need to do this week?" — you can see tasks from all awards in one place, sorted by due date, without opening each application.

Tasks that are overdue float to the top and are marked in red.

Marking tasks complete

Click the checkbox next to a task to mark it done. Completed tasks are hidden from the main view by default — click Show completed to see them.

Assigning tasks

If you have team members on the workspace, you can assign tasks to individuals. Assigned tasks appear in the assignee's personal task view (the My tasks filter). Unassigned tasks are visible to everyone.

Deleting a task

Open the task (click its title) and click Delete at the bottom. This cannot be undone.

Tasks vs. deadlines

Tasks are things your team needs to do — they have assignees and work-item due dates.
Deadlines are the award's submission close date — when the application has to be in by.

They're tracked separately: the Tasks page shows task due dates, the Deadlines calendar shows submission deadlines.
