The Washington Business Journal’s Best Real Estate Deals / Real Estate Dealmakers awards recognize the most significant commercial real estate transactions, developments, leases and financing deals in the Washington, D.C. region over the prior year. Run by the Washington Business Journal’s editorial team, the program highlights the deal teams, owners, brokers, developers and other key players behind high-impact projects. Companies pursue it for local industry visibility, networking at the Dealmakers event, and the credibility of an editorially selected Business Journal award rather than a pay-to-play listing.

Eligibility Requirements

• Deal must be a commercial real estate transaction (sale, lease, development, or financing) involving property in the Washington, DC metropolitan area
• Deal must have closed or reached a definitive milestone during the eligible 2025 calendar year for the 2026 awards
• Submission must be made by or on behalf of a principal party to the deal (e.g., owner, developer, broker, lender) with sufficient detail on deal structure, parties and impact
