Queen's Award for Innovation

Overview

The Innovation award recognises UK organisations with outstanding commercial success from an innovation that has been on the market for at least two years and has not been sold before. It is run by the UK Government’s Department for Business and Trade as part of The King’s Awards for Enterprise, which are widely viewed as the UK’s top business honours and are free to enter. Companies pursue it for national prestige, Royal recognition, and credibility signals that can support sales, recruitment, and investor confidence.

Eligibility Requirements

• Based in the UK, including the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man
• Self-contained enterprise under its own management with its own accounts
• At least 2 full-time UK employees or part-time equivalents
• Good compliance record with government departments and agencies
• Innovation available on the market for at least 2 years
• Innovation has recovered its investment or is expected to recover full costs
• Outstanding commercial success from innovation over 2 to 5 years
