Pittsburgh Healthcare Heroes (also called Heroes in Healthcare) is a recognition program by the Pittsburgh Business Times that honors individuals and organizations in the Pittsburgh region’s health care community for outstanding clinical care, innovation, leadership, and service. Run as an editorial awards program with honorees profiled by the paper and celebrated at an awards event, it is pursued by hospitals, health systems, and related organizations to spotlight their top talent and community impact. The program’s credibility comes from being curated by the Pittsburgh Business Times’ editorial team as part of its regional business awards portfolio, rather than as a pure pay‑to‑play listing.

Eligibility Requirements

• Nominee must be an individual or organization working in or closely with the health care sector (e.g., hospitals, health systems, medical practices, long-term care, public health, nonprofits, insurers, or health-related services).
• Nominee must be based in or primarily serving the greater Pittsburgh region at the time of recognition.
• Nominators must complete the official Pittsburgh Business Times online nomination form for the 2026 Pittsburgh Healthcare Heroes cycle by the stated deadline, including narrative responses describing the nominee’s impact.
