Overview

New York Business Journal’s Fast 50 (often branded locally as the ‘Fast 50’ or ‘Fastest-Growing Companies’ list) recognizes the fastest-growing privately held companies in the New York City area, based on multi‑year revenue growth. It is organized by the New York Business Journal, part of the American City Business Journals network. Companies pursue it for regional credibility, exposure to local investors and partners, and inclusion in an editorial ranking rather than a pure pay‑to‑play directory. Selection is largely data‑driven on revenue growth and vetted by the publication’s editorial and research staff.

Eligibility Requirements

• Company must be privately held, for-profit, and headquartered or have a significant operational presence in the New York City metropolitan area.
• Must have been in business for at least three full fiscal years with verifiable revenue for each year used in the growth calculation (typically 2022–2024 or 2023–2025 for the 2026 list).
• Must submit revenue figures for the required period, certified as accurate by a CEO, CFO, or external accountant; companies are ranked based on percentage revenue growth over the period.
