New York CFO of the Year

Overview

New York CFO of the Year is a regional awards program run by the New York Business Journal (part of the American City Business Journals network) that honors chief financial officers and senior finance leaders in the New York area for outstanding financial leadership, strategic impact, and community involvement. The program is editorially managed, with honorees selected by the publication’s editors and/or an independent judging panel based on narrative nominations rather than paid placements. Companies and executives pursue it for local visibility among business leaders, talent, and investors, as well as coverage in the New York Business Journal’s event and feature stories.

Eligibility Requirements

• Nominee must serve as a CFO or senior finance executive (e.g., EVP/SVP of Finance) for an organization based in or significantly operating in the New York City metropolitan area
• Nominee must have been in their current finance leadership role for at least 12 months as of the nomination deadline (unless being nominated specifically for impact during a shorter tenure, per editor discretion)
• Self-nominations and third‑party nominations are accepted; nominators must provide narrative responses on leadership, financial performance, and community or industry impact
