Kansas City Business Journal’s Health Care Heroes awards (often referred to locally as Healthcare Heroes/Heroes in Healthcare) honor individuals in the Kansas City metro who are making outstanding contributions to health care—clinicians, administrators, volunteers and innovators improving patient care and community health. The program is run editorially by the Kansas City Business Journal and is one of its core regional recognition platforms, giving honorees coverage in the print edition, online profiles, and recognition at an awards event. Organizations pursue it for regional visibility, third‑party validation from a reputable business publication, and as a tool for talent recognition and employer branding.

Eligibility Requirements

• Nominee must work in the health care sector serving the Kansas City metro area (e.g., hospital, clinic, long‑term care, health system, nonprofit, or related organization)
• Nominee must fit one of the program’s categories (such as physicians, nurses, executives, allied health professionals, volunteers, or innovators) as defined by Kansas City Business Journal
