Jacksonville Healthcare Heroes / Heroes in Healthcare

Overview

Jacksonville Healthcare Heroes (often branded as Heroes in Healthcare) is a recognition program run by the Jacksonville Business Journal that honors outstanding individuals and teams in the Northeast Florida health care community. It spotlights physicians, nurses, administrators, support staff and organizations that demonstrate exceptional patient care, innovation, leadership and community impact. Companies and health systems pursue it for local brand visibility, talent recognition and networking with regional health care leaders. As a Jacksonville Business Journal editorial award, honorees are selected through a newsroom-driven process rather than a pay-to-play scheme.

Eligibility Requirements

• Nominee must be an individual or team working in the health care sector serving the greater Jacksonville/Northeast Florida region (e.g., hospitals, clinics, practice groups, long-term care, ancillary services, public health, nonprofits).
• Nominee must have made a demonstrable impact in areas such as patient care, innovation, leadership, community outreach or supporting colleagues during the eligibility period defined by the 2026 program.
• Nominator must complete the Jacksonville Business Journal’s online nomination form by the stated deadline; self-nominations and nominations by colleagues/employers are allowed.
