Hawaii’s Best Workplaces is a regional employer-recognition program run by Pacific Business News (part of the American City Business Journals network) that honors organizations in Hawaii with the strongest employee engagement and workplace culture. Companies participate primarily to bolster employer branding, attract and retain talent, and gain editorial exposure in Pacific Business News’ coverage and event program. The rankings are data-driven, based largely on confidential employee survey results administered by a third‑party research partner, which lends additional credibility beyond pure nomination or pay‑to‑play models.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must have a physical presence and actively conduct business in the state of Hawaii
• Must meet Pacific Business News’ minimum employee count requirement for inclusion (with small, midsize, and large company categories)
• Must complete the nomination/registration process and participate in the employee engagement survey administered by the program’s research partner by the stated deadlines
