Overview

Women Who Mean Business (also called Outstanding Women in Business in some Business Journal markets) is an annual recognition program by the Boston Business Journal honoring women executives and entrepreneurs who demonstrate outstanding leadership, professional achievement and community impact in Greater Boston. It is an editorially selected, nomination-driven award that highlights individual leaders rather than companies, and is highly visible in the regional business community through BBJ coverage and an awards event. Companies and professionals pursue it for reputational credibility, networking with other regional leaders, and media exposure from the Business Journal brand.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Nominee must be a woman business leader working in the Greater Boston area
  • Nominee must hold a significant leadership, executive, or ownership role in her organization
  • Self-nominations and third-party nominations are accepted; nominees must be able to attend the Boston Business Journal Women Who Mean Business awards event if selected
