Overview
Austin CFO of the Year is the Austin Business Journal’s annual recognition program honoring standout chief financial officers in Central Texas. CFOs (and equivalent roles) will be grouped into similar revenue categories or company categories. We're looking for CFOs who have balanced company growth and excellence with clear management of financial growth.

Micro Company CFO (2025 revenue up to $5 million)
Small Company CFO (2025 revenue from $5 to $25 million)
Medium Company CFO (2025 revenue from $26 to $100 million)
Large Company CFO (2025 revenue from $101 to $200 million)
Extra Large Company CFO (2025 revenue from $201 to $500 million)
Mega Company CFO (2025 revenue above $500 million)
Public Company CFO

Startup CFO (Startups are usually still raising capital and are younger than 5 years old.)
Eligibility Requirements
- Nominee must be a Chief Financial Officer or equivalent highest-ranking financial officer
- Nominee must live and work in the expanded 10-county Central Texas area (Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, Williamson, Bell, Blanco, Gillespie, or Llano)
- Nominee must have been employed by the company for at least 12 months
- Nominee cannot have been a prior Best CFO Awards winner under their current company
